Below is an outline of the elements I would expect cover.

Days begin with a lesson/demonstration highlighting a particular aspect of painting, and incorporating exercises to help artists use the tools, free up the hand and to give confidence. The morning continues with free painting using the lessons learnt.
In the afternoon the artists can try out new media or continue with work started on previous days. We can also set up a longer painting which can be worked on at the same time each day so the light is the same(ish).
We provide all the materials and equipment that you will need to enjoy your painting or drawing holiday
For working in the studio we have studio easels and for work around the property and on trips out we provide portable easels and stools.
We have all the materials and equipment necessary for the major mediums, oil, watercolour, pastel, acrylic and gouache. If there is anything else you like to use, or would like to try, just let us know and I’ll get it in.
You will also receive one of our handmade, monogrammed sketchbooks (it’s a little hobby of mine).
On at least two days we will make excursions to Tolentino, Rocca d’Ajello or Rocca Varano (all within 15 minute’s drive). Artists can either concentrate on swift sketches or work on larger pieces. The tutor is always be on hand to help explain the process of choosing a subject, finding a mood, and the techniques available.

Excursion day – we spend the afternoon session out and about

Tolentino, Basilica San Nicola with beautiful frescos in the crypt and quiet cloisters to sketch in. Very nice bar just outside. Perfect
(for all the Austalians) Loved it from start to finish …. Your home reminds me of mine in many ways but my menus will have to improve if I’m to keep us with Andrea’s wonderful cooking. I’ll tell all my friends about this course so you can spread the love.

What a wonderful week of painting, fine dining and warm hospitality… Everyday has been amazing! A new vista to sketch, or paint (and photograph). I could have stayed here for longer. Arrivederci, I hope to return next year.
